In 2012 we designed a textile print for Marimekko and named it Kaiaka, which means 'shadowed sea' in Hawaiian. It was used for three styles: a dress, a shirt and a skirt, in Marimekko’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. The styles are all designed by Mai Ohta, in-house designer at Marimekko. The fabric is cotton satin, Marimekko's classic cotton quality, and it was screen printed on rotary press beds at their factory in Helsinki.
